A good craft idea can turn an “I’m booooored” afternoon into a few hours of blissful peace and quiet during the summer holidays.
Clever parents will already have stocked the house with large sheets of paper and every colouring implement known to man; a smart move, because these are the only tools required to make these cute folded paper objects.
You can involve older kids in the folding, or fold up a few planes, hats and for younger kids to colour in. The potential to get more than an hour out of this one is high; encourage kids to create a hat for their character in a play to be staged in the living room later (add glitter, tinfoil shapes, pasta pieces), or have them design paper airplanes to compete in a big race in the garden after dinner or boats to sail at the local park.
You may even find you’re eager to compete yourself.
