We’ve all kept a few secrets.
Whether it was one of your own or a friends, they can last a few years or mere hours.
Kid even keep secrets, and while most of them may not be serious ones, it’s worrying nonetheless.
We all hate having to hide something from our loved ones and according to a new study, keeping a secret can have a very negative effect on your mind and body.

Researchers at Columbia University studied 600 individuals and found that 96 percent of them were currently keeping a secret.
Of the 96 percent, the majority of those were keeping a romantic secret.
In the study, the researchers asked the candidates how many secrets they kept within the last month and how many times they thought about them.

The analysis found that having to constantly keep on top of it, instead of letting the secret out, has the most impact on your body.
The repetitive nature can wreak havoc, giving people anxiety, and a draining-like feeling in their mind.
According to PsycNet, the research was conducted in the hope that we can learn to better deal with a secret, and not have anxiety from keeping it in.
