Mum’s beach pic with daughter shows why body positivity matters

This is lovely.

Olivia White is a blogger from Australia.

She’s also a mum who has an adorable daughter who she regularly shares very sweet pictures of on her Instagram page.

Olivia tends to use her social media to post images of her family, herself, or the odd inspirational quote or two.

Recently, however, she took it upon herself to use her Instagram account to highlight the importance of body positivity and how sometimes, even during the nicest moments with her daughter, she finds it difficult to be entirely happy with her body.

Olivia posted the below photo to accompany her thoughts.

She wrote that she originally didn’t post the photo while she and her daughter were on holidays, because she “hated” how her stomach looked.

The mum-of-one wrote:

“As much as I try to be self confident and be positive about my appearance, it’s not just a switch and one day you’re completely 110% okay with yourself.

“It’s a daily thing, and you have good and bad days.”

Olivia then went on to say that it’s difficult to remind yourself that you are worthy every day, but that she knows it’s just her brain trying to trick her into believing that she isn’t.

“This is a beautiful moment between my daughter and I – a memory I want to treasure forever and nothing can ruin that.”

Olivia’s post has received over 3,500 likes online with people praising the mum’s decision to post the photo and for encouraging others to be okay with however their bodies look.

“This is a beautiful photo,” wrote one user.

“Thank you for writing this message,” said another. “Really hit home with me as a mumma of a 10-month-old.”
