Prince Harry and Meghan may have to change their baby name under this condition

There’s just a few weeks to go until Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcome their first child.

And fans are eager for any new information they can find out – including the name of the future member of the royal family.

The bookies’ favourites include Diana, Alice, Victoria and Alexandra for a girl. In terms of male names, Arthur and Edward are topping the list of favourites.

However, it has been claimed that whatever the Sussexes decide to name their child, Queen Elizabeth’s opinion will be taken into account in an “informal conversation”.

While is ultimately up to the Queen whether Meghan and Harry’s child gets a royal title, a royal commentator said it is likely she will be more relaxed when it comes to the child’s first name.

Discussing the birth of Prince Louis last year, Kate Williams told CNN:

“The Queen has the power to say what their title is. But in the case of names, it is more of an informal conversation.

“Of course they have such respect for the Queen that if she says ‘I really don’t like that name,’ they’d definitely take that into account.”

The news comes after hints about the baby’s gender broke in the media in the past few weeks.

Images from Meghan’s baby shower in New York showed pastel pink treats being served, suggesting that it was a girl.

But contrasting reports stated that the Duchess told her friends at the shower that she was having a boy – especially after some of the guests were pictured with gifts wrapped in blue paper.
