The Many Ways the Internet Saved us in a Parenting Pinch

Oh Dr. Google, thank you for your wisdom… and the on-demand cartoons and games. We love the internet! Here are 7 times we turned to the World Wide Web to solve a parenting problem.

1. When the baby Would. Not. Sleep. Then this Dad took to Youtube to share his genius tissue trick (How to Put a Baby to Sleep in Less Than One Minute) and suddenly, all was right with the world again.

2. When giving birth made us feel like we’d lost our mojo. Nothing fit. Everything felt weird. We were tired and weepy. We just weren’t ourselves. A quick browse revealed that early Mommyhood mojo depletion is a common ailment. And suggested the best sites for a post-birth wardrobe revamp.

3. When Junior became the Houdini of romper suits, wriggling free at the most inopportune moments. The answer? Tie the buttons up the back to prevent escapes. #Genius

4. When the three-year-old randomly blurted out a swear word for the first time. At the mother-in-law’s house. At Christmas dinner. Is he destined for a life of crime? Nope. As many a wise parent advises on the best parenting forums, ignore it and it’ll soon stop.


5. When it rained solidly for three weeks during the summer holidays. We genuinely may not have survived the cabin fever without the craft table ideas and rainy day activities.

6. When we needed a solution to the stuff explosion in the car boot (a shoe organiser does the trick). Cheap rattan mats are just the thing for catching toddler debris in the backseat too… and they’re much easier to shake out.
