I have a request in for a ‘Transformers’ birthday cake in two weeks’ time.
Which Transformer, I do not yet know, although I’m sure I’ll get to the bottom of what my son really wants in the next few days.
Nothing worse than having the birthday kid ratting you out to his mates that your mother ruined his entire 5-year-old life by staying up until 3am icing an Optimus Prime cake when he really wanted a Bumblebee.

Anyway, I can’t complain really when I see what this other mum has had to deal with.
Despite their best efforts to persuade him otherwise, their son really, really wanted a birthday cake of a cow giving birth to a calf.
Yes, you read that correctly – a cow giving birth to a calf.
You have to hand it to her – rice cakes as hooves and cherry pie filling as afterbirth – she is 100% a super dooper (and very creative!) mum;
That kid better be happy now!
