Ah, pregnancy.
Some of us love it all (except for those last 2-3 weeks that is) and could literally do it over and over again. Others not so much and feel it is just a means to an end to finally have that gorgeous baby in your arms.
Regardless, I think it is funny when you see all those staged maternity photos, how blissful, serene and just magical it all looks – when often, being pregnant is also a whole lot of other (less amazing) things than just blissful.
Which is probably why these hilarious maternity-shots-with-a-difference by New Jersey photographer Danielle Guenther have struck a cord with mums and mums-to-be everywhere. As opposed to the ethereal and serene maternity shots we have become used to seeing, Guenther takes photos of her mum-to-be clients in a variety of real-world scenarios that are universally familiar to all pregnant women.
(Because, you know, we don’t all spend our entire pregnancies gazing lovingly down at our bellies on white sand beaches, draped in white toga-like garments…)
Sick of seeing all the same super-staged maternity shots, Guenther came up with her now-gone-viral Best Case Scenario series, and we think they are all sorts of hilarious. Just take a look:
