Find it hard to stop yourself from taking another bite? Or do you always eat until you’re ready to burst?
You could be over-eating but don’t worry, Cosmopolitan has stumbled across a nifty trick to tackle this problem.
Founder of website ChillPill, Brandon Nguyen, revealed his secret on a Quora thread entitled ‘What are the best three life hacks?’
He wrote:
“One simple way to eat more deliberately and slowly is to force yourself to eat with your non-dominant hand.
“It might be too much to do this for every meal, but trying it for dinner to start since that’s when we tend to eat the most.
“The reason for this is that it takes more time to eat, which gives your stomach a chance to signal your brain that you’re full.”
And it turns out that it can actually reduce the amount you eat by almost a third.
Susan Hepburn, hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, told the publication: “This action actively disrupts the established patterns of how you eat.”
We suppose it’s worth a try! Then again, we could just end up doing this…
