Now that the heatwave has finally arrived, a touch of faux tan is in order before we unveil our pasty limbs to the world.
Nothing screams ‘FAKE TAN’ like orange knuckles and tangerine palms however, so if you’re new to tanning, this trick will ensure your hands maintain a natural- looking colour.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. First, apply a light moisturiser on your hands one hour before you apply your tanning product. The skin on the hands tends to be dry and can absorb too much of the liquid, gel or mousse you’re using.
2. After you’ve applied your tan to the rest of your body, use what’s left on the mitt to sweep across the tops of your hands towards the middle of your fingers.
3. Lastly, allow your tan to develop for 30 minutes, then apply a layer of hand cream. The tan will continue to develop but it won’t gather in the creases between your fingers or knuckles.
The result? Natural-looking bronzed hands and a faultless finish!
