Eating out with the kids in tow is rarely a relaxing experience for parents, but one restaurant is attempting to lighten the mood with a clever menu.
Clearly designed by a parent, the menu at this Pennsylvania deli lays out their offering in a way that most frazzled mums and dads will identify with: the dishes are labelled ‘I don’t know’ (hot-dog and fries), ‘I’m not hungry’ (grilled cheese sandwich and fries) and ‘I don’t care’ (chicken and fries).
The tongue-in-cheek menu was shared online by Reddit user nabced. If none of those tasty options tickle your little diner’s fancy, there’s also the ‘I don’t want that’ – a portion of fish stix served with chips.
Parents were quick to add their own restaurant tips and experiences:
“When my daughter can’t/won’t figure out something to order I pick for her and get the thing that sounds tastiest tome. That way once I’m finished my meal I can enjoy eating the remaining 75% or whatever of hers, then hate myself afterwards.” said Dcmcderm.
“It’s one of the best parts about being a dad if we’re being honest here.”
Earther199 added: “I took my kids out for dinner at a newly opened Culvers, something they were excited about. I’m not a huge fan of Culvers but they begged. I took them. They behaved abominably and barely ate the food. I said point blank to them: “You guys suck.”
