Can you imagine if this was your daughter? At an impromptu house party, five teenage boys, aged between 16 – 18 years allegedly ‘lined up’ to have sex with a 15-year-old who was allegedly too drunk to defend herself.
Sources say the girl drank a bottle of vodka, bought for her at a local supermarket and ended up being brought home by her friends drunk. An impromptu party at the girl’s house in Rathfarnham, Dublin ensued where Gardai have stated the girl alleges five males had pulled down her leggings and underwear and had sex with her individually in her bedroom, but that she could not “physically say no” and was scared. She alleges that she heard a voice outside the room saying, “Line up, guys.”
The 16-year-olds cases are due to be dealt with in the district court. If the defendants are found to be guilty, they face up to one year in prison (yes, one whole year).
The 17- and 18-year-olds will be dealt with under a different jurisdiction, but if they are found guilty in the criminal court by a jury, they face up to five years in jail.
