Coronation Street is going to be introducing a harrowing domestic violence storyline for Mary Taylor and her son, Jude.
Jude is going to be exposed by a pathological liar in the coming weeks, after he tries to claim he was the one who saved Roy Cropper’s life – when, in fact, it was Dr. Ali Neeson.
The Sun report that the plot is going to take a dark twist when Mary decides to confront him about his lies.
He physically attacks her, leaving the florist terrified – and wondering if he takes after his violent father.
A source told the publication:
“When Jude is exposed as a pathological liar Mary confronts him and tries to get to the bottom of why he does it.
“But when she tries to get answers he gets physical with her and leaves her utterly terrified.
“She confides in Roy about how scared she is of him and admits her fears that he has got his father’s violent streak.”
It comes as it emerged this week that Sinead Tinker is going to be diagnosed with cervical cancer – weeks after finding out she is expecting a baby with boyfriend Daniel Osbourne.
Upcoming scenes will find Sinead, played by Katie McGlynn, facing the news after she had ignored the symptoms for some time.
Sinead will be the first resident of the cobbles to receive the diagnosis since Amanda Barrie’s Alma Halliwell 17 years ago.
