If you’re planning on being out and about this evening, please take extra care on the roads and make sure you have your raincoat on.
Met Éireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for many parts as heavy downpours are expected to sweep across the country.
The warning is in place until 8pm this evening which isn’t so bad, however it could cause issues for those heading home from work or elsewhere.
The downpours could turn thundery and pose a risk of localised flooding with accumulations of 20 to 30mm forecast.
The affected areas are Carlow, Clare, Connacht, Cork, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Offaly, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.
AA Roadwatch has also urged people to slow down on the roads with flooding already affecting Dublin and Co Wicklow.
