Lovely news for the couple.
The parents of Gavin Glynn, who captured the heart of the nation when he lost his fight against cancer in 2014, have revealed that they became parents to a baby boy a few months ago.
Gavin’s dad, John, joined Ray D’Arcy on his RTE Radio One show yesterday to chat about his late son and their new arrival. He admitted that it was a very emotional time when little Billy was born four months ago.
He said:
“It was just such a relaxed pregnancy and the most relaxed birth, even Jayne will say that. He’s such a joyful and happy baby.
It was very emotional to have another baby and to find out whether it was going to be a boy or a girl.”
John also said that they can feel Gavin looking after them and that he is everywhere.
Gavin was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Embroyonal Rhabdomyosarcoma, when he was just 18-months-old. His family created the Gavin Glynn fundraising initiative to cover the cost of special treatment in Texas.
Unfortunately, in 2014, when Gavin was just four years of age, he lost his battle against cancer. His parents John and Jayne continue to raise money for the Gavin Glynn Foundation in honour of their son.
