A family is in mourning today after a car accident claimed the life of a sixteen-year-old girl in Waterford overnight.
The girl was travelling in the back seat of a car when it hit a wall.
According to a report in the Irish Independent, she was transferred to University Hospital Waterford but passed away late last night.
Two other teenagers, a girl and a boy, both aged 17, were seriously injured in the smash, which occurred at 8.20pm on Cliff Road, Newtown, Tramore, Co. Waterford.
The male driver of the vehicle, also aged 17, is being treated for minor injuries.
The road is currently closed as a forensic investigation takes place and a post mortem is due to to be arranged.
