If you had planned on spending Easter weekend outside with the little ones, you might need to rethink, as it’s set to be wet and windy.
In fact, Met Éireann has issued two status yellow wind warnings – one of which covers Cavan, Donegal and Monaghan.
These areas are set to be hit by winds of average speeds between 45 and 65 km/h as well as gusts up to 110km/h.
The other warning is for the rest of Ireland which can expect similar conditions. Both warnings are in place until 9.00pm tonight.
Today will also see rain in many parts with the west having a mixture of bright spells and heavy showers. There is also a risk of thunder and highest temperatures will be around 9 to 12 degrees Celsius.
Into this evening, the rain will continue with some heavy downpours but there will be dry periods too and temperatures will drop to between 1 and 4 degrees Celsius.
Easter Sunday is expected to be cool and blustery with a mixture of sunny spells and rain or hail showers. These will clear as the day progresses but it will turn cold tomorrow night, falling below zero in some areas.
As for Easter Monday, it will be cold and bright with scattered showers and a chance of frost on Monday night.
These unsettled conditions could be due to Storm Katie which is making its way to the UK this weekend. A severe weather warning has been issued for Monday with southern England and south Wales bearing the brunt.
Is anyone else thinking of just snuggling up for the weekend with lots of chocolates and some family films?
