7 Fun Things To Do At Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular

Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular is returning next month and it is the perfect day out for the entire family.

From street performances to workshops, you and your little ones are in for a day of fun.

Speaking about the event, Director Shell Holden said: “This year’s festival will come to life through an exciting line-up of talent…

“We would love everyone – families, friends, couples and pet pooches – to come join in the celebrations and enjoy our FREE festival this July.”

Here are some more details about what you can do at the family-friendly festival…

Rub shoulders with Titan the Robot & co.

The world famous, fully-animated Titan the Robot will be at the event and is a must-see for the kids. The Lizardman, puppetry royalty Bosco and contortionist Alakazam will also be making appearances. There will be a chance to participate in games in the garden in aid of Lauralynn’s Children’s Hospice too.

Take a class

Spark your imagination

As well as creative arts and crafts workshops at the ‘Artzone’, the ESB ‘Spark Your Imagination’ hub is for those who want to explore their own ideas or learn about science. ‘Fighting Words’ is a must for any aspiring young authors or artists out there. (Pre-register here.)

Bring your pet

‘PET-acular’ with the D.S.P.C.A is a new area where families and animal lovers can bring their pets to enjoy the festival fun. Your pooch could be the star of the ‘Scruffs Dog Show’ or they could simply have fun running around the ‘King of Paws’ agility arena. The wonderful team at the D.S.P.C.A will be on hand to provide pet health advice.

NO REPRO FEE. Doktor Kaboom! The Mad German Scientist one man variety show performs at Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular ‘ESB Spark Your Imagination’ area which runs in Dublin's Merrion Square from July 10-12th and Cork’s Fitzgerald Park on July 18-19th. Visit the HerFamily.ie breastfeeding/baby-changing area

Come say hello to a few members of our team at this area dedicated to mums and dads who want a nice, comfortable place to change or feed their little ones. There will also be a chill-out area should you want some downtime from the festivities.

Eat, eat and eat!

If you love your grub, you need to pay a visit to ‘JUST EAT Street’, a dedicated international street food festival. With over 25 different cuisines to choose from, you are bound to find a dish that tickles your taste buds. There will also be some music from international music acts while you tuck in.

Get a health check

It’s not all fun and games of course. Adults can also get their blood pressure checked for free by the onsite nurse who will be available and ready to provide information and advice to those who want it.
