Nine pregnant nurses in US hospital all expecting their babies at around the same time

There’s something in the water at Maine Medical Centre.

Nine pregnant nurses working in the same hospital are all expecting their babies around the same time.

The staff at US hospital, Maine Medical Centre, discovered their pregnancy trend recently when nurse Erin Grenier started wondering if something was  “really was in the air” at the labour and delivery ward.

And it does seem to be too because she, Rachel Stellmach, Brittney Verville, Lonnie Soucie, Amanda Spear, Samantha Giglio, Nicole Goldberg, Nicole Barnes, and Holly Selby are all expecting babies between April and July of this year.

Madness.

Once they figured out so many of them were expecting, eight of the nine women decided to share a photo online depicting each of their stages of pregnancy through a placard sharing their due date.

The photo quickly went viral online because, well, it’s fairly excellent.

Six of the nurses work the same weekend shift, but the hospital has thankfully planned ahead to ensure that all of those shifts are going to be covered while the mums-to-be are giving birth.

Understandably, the whole thing has become a bit of a bonding experience for the nurses, some of whom are first-time mums and others who are expecting their third or fourth child.

“I think it’s comforting knowing we’re all in this together,” Giglio said.
