Vogue Williams has told how she was fat-shamed by social media users while she was at her very own baby shower.
The TV presenter and her now-husband, Spencer Matthews, announced in March that they are expecting their first child together.
And the mum-to-be appeared onĀ This MorningĀ on Tuesday, where she discussed being fat-shamed over the photos from her baby shower – as well as the criticism she has received for working out.
She toldĀ Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield:
“People said I looked fat at my baby shower – I was seven months pregnant at the time.
“When online itās so easy to be negative and hide behind a computer and put anything you want… being fat shamed at seven months pregnant was like water off a duckās back but at any stage to fat shame any women is awful.
“It happens mostly to women – social media has got so nasty.”
She also talked about the criticism she received from social media users after she shared some posts working out in the gym.
She added:
“I was training differently but Iāve always trained since I was 17 so I wasn’t going to stop when I was pregnant.
“People were constantly saying, ‘Youāre putting your baby at risk’ but everything I do is OKed by my doctor and my trainers.
“People seemed to have such an issue with people training when pregnant.”
It’s not the first time that Vogue has spoken out about the social media criticism she has received.
I actually just have to laugh at the people fat shaming me. Iām seven months PREGNANT, the online world is a nasty little place. Myself and my larger body are very happy and look forward to getting even bigger āŗļø
