1. Glendalough

Glendalough is one of the most picturesque tourist destinations Ireland has to offer. Nestled between two lakes, the glacial valley is best known for the iconic monastery built there by St Kevin in the 6th century.

2. National Botanic Gardens, Kilmacurragh

The gardens originally formed part of an 18th-century estate. Today, the National Botanic Gardens in Kilmacurragh is an outpost of the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin. The stunning gardens feature flora from around the world, it’s well worth a visit.

3. Powerscourt Hotel Resort and Spa

Powerscourt Hotel Resort and Spa is the number one place to stay during a trip to Wicklow. This spot has to be seen to be believed, the setting is truly spectacular. Not only is the hotel’s Sika restaurant well-renowned, the hotel’s award-winning ESPA spa is making a name for itself around the world as well. Heads up: go for the warming peat ritual – this treatment, which is only available at Powerscourt, involves a full body scrub before you are cocooned in a detoxing layer of Wicklow peat. It may sound a bit gross but trust us, it’s dreamy.

4. National Sea Life Centre

No trip to Wicklow would be complete without stopping off at the National Sea Life Centre in Bray. Located along the waterfront, the centre takes visitors on a journey from the Irish coastline to the depths of tropical oceans through 25 themed displays. The centre is completely indoors meaning you don’t have to worry about the weather.

Wicklow is home to Ireland’s tallest waterfall. Standing at a massive 121 meters, Powerscourt Waterfall is breathtaking and only 5km from Powerscourt House And Gardens. There is loads of space to keep the children entertained as well as a refreshment kios, toilets, and a play park for younger children.

6. Wicklow Mountains

Chances are if you’re heading to Wicklow you will either drive through the Wicklow Mountains or spot them from afar. To really experience them, try something different like day cycling, fishing or rock climbing in the area.
